Join Arabella for an extraordinary week of sailing through the French-Caribbean elegance of St. Maarten and St. Barths, timed perfectly to coincide with the world-famous Heineken Regatta. We’ll explore turquoise bays, anchor off quiet crescent beaches, wander vibrant harbors, and enjoy sunset cocktails beneath warm island skies. Days bring swimming, snorkeling, and optional small-boat sailing; evenings invite relaxed dinners, lively waterfront cafés, and the effortless camaraderie that forms among sailors at sea. We’ll sail into glamorous Gustavia, find serenity at Anse de Colombier, and spend a peaceful night beneath the stars at Ile Fourchue. On race day, we’ll have front-row views of some of the most beautiful yachts in the world as they compete across the bay, followed by the legendary Heineken Regatta party ashore. It’s a week of adventure, elegance, friendship, and pure Caribbean joy — all from the comfort and grace of Arabella.

St Maarten
Our sailing vacation begins on Saint Maarten, a tropical paradise that offers the perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and cultural richness. Known as “The Friendly Island,” this gem of the Caribbean boasts 37 pristine beaches with turquoise waters, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. The island is uniquely shared by two nations—French and Dutch—offering visitors a mix of European sophistication and Caribbean charm. Add to that the electric energy of the Heineken Regatta, where the island comes alive with parties, music, and camaraderie, and Saint Maarten becomes the ultimate destination for an unforgettable mix of sailing, fun, and island bliss.

Grand Case
After breakfast, we set sail from Simpson Bay, following the island’s northern coast — about 12 nautical miles of turquoise waters and lush green hillsides.
By midday, we anchor off Grand Case, a charming seaside village renowned as the culinary heart of the Caribbean. Colorful Creole cottages line the beach, filled with the aromas of French and island cuisine.
Spend the afternoon swimming, snorkeling, or wandering ashore. As evening falls, Grand Case comes alive with music and the scent of grilling seafood — an ideal night to dine ashore and savor the flavors that make this town famous.

Ille Forchue
Île Fourchue is a quiet, uninhabited island set between St. Maarten and St. Barths, shaped by rugged hills and wrapped in clear, glass-calm water. The anchorage here feels like a private world, sheltered and still, perfect for swimming, paddleboarding, or simply floating beside Arabella in the warm afternoon light. With no towns and no noise, the night sky becomes spectacular — a canopy of stars reflected on the sea. It’s a peaceful pause in the voyage, where time seems to stretch and the Caribbean feels wonderfully wild.

St Barths – Gustavia
Sailing into Gustavia feels like arriving in a jewel box harbor: classic yachts at anchor, red rooftops climbing the hillside, and the soft golden light of late afternoon catching everything just right. Once Arabella is secured, the town unfolds into an evening of effortless elegance. Wander the waterfront and explore the stylish boutiques before settling into a harborside bistro for a French Caribbean dinner. As the night deepens, the tempo rises. Gustavia is known for its refined but lively nightlife, with chic lounges, intimate cocktail bars, and open-air music spots where sailors, travelers, and island regulars mingle. Order a rum punch, enjoy the soft sea breeze, and let the night flow. Gustavia is where sailing adventure meets a touch of Riviera glamour beneath the Caribbean stars.

St Barths – Anse de Colombier
Anse de Colombier is one of the most treasured anchorages in St. Barths, a serene crescent of white sand tucked between green, rolling hills and accessible only by boat or a footpath. The water is calm and brilliantly clear, perfect for swimming, snorkeling, or simply floating under the sun. After a lazy, luxurious afternoon there, Arabella sails a short distance to Ile Fourchue, a rugged, uninhabited island that wraps you in stillness. The anchorage is well protected, and the night sky here feels vast and unfiltered. It’s the kind of evening where conversations soften, the sea laps against the hull, and the stars feel close enough to touch. A perfect quiet night in the Caribbean.

The Heineken Regatta
At first light, Arabella will cruise back up to Simpson Bay to watch the lively parade of sailboats streaming out of the inner harbor. It’s a wonderful spectacle with crews dressing up and calling to one another across the water. Saturday is race day, and we follow the action from the comfort of Arabella, enjoying front-row views as the fleets round marks and chase the wind. When the sun goes down, the energy shifts ashore as the Heineken Regatta throws one of its famously spirited parties. Live music, dancing, and laughter spill into the warm Caribbean night. It’s a joyful capstone to a day spent honoring the sea.The St. Maarten Heineken Regatta features over 110 boats from more than 35 countries. This regatta is renowned for its “Serious Fun!” legacy, combining competitive sailing with vibrant shoreside festivities, making it a cornerstone event in the Caribbean sailing calendar. FAQs
Where do we meet Arabella?
Guests will meet Arabella anchored in Simpson Bay off Saint Maarten. This is close to the airport.
What is the easiest way to get to St Maarten?
The easiest way to get from New York to St. Maarten is to fly directly into Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM). Multiple airlines offer nonstop flights from New York City airports, such as JFK and Newark, with an average flight time of around 4.5 hours. Once you arrive, transportation to your destination can be arranged via taxi, shuttle, or private transfer.
Do I need to have racing experience in order to join this adventure?
No prior sailing experience is needed to enjoy an unforgettable week aboard Arabella, our luxurious 157-foot mega yacht. Whether you’re a seasoned sailor or have never stepped on a boat before, this journey is designed for everyone. You can get as involved in the sailing as you like—learn the ropes, experience steering the yacht if offered by the captain, or simply watch the crew in action. Or, if relaxation is your goal, sink into one of Arabella’s plush cushions with a good book and let the sea breeze rejuvenate your soul. With spacious decks, gourmet meals, and stops at some of the East Coast’s most exclusive destinations, your experience aboard Arabella will be equal parts adventure and indulgence. This is more than a sailing trip—it’s your gateway to luxurious exploration and timeless memories.
How much will be expected of me during the schooner festival?
During the cruise, our professional crew will manage the boat. But they would like your help whenever we need to raise the mizzen sail. This is our largest sail on the after-most mast (the mizzen mast). The mizzen sail is about 90 feet tall and we form a long line to pull the halyard. Not only does this promote teamwork and good feelings, but its a lot of fun and gets you pumped up as well. When we are cruising, the captain often allows guests to come up to the helm and help him steer Arabella. When in your life have you ever steered a 157-foot mega yacht! This is your chance so have your camera ready. During the race, the captain, first mate or one of their designees will be steering at all times because of our need to keep Arabella moving as fast a possible. It’s a race, not a training session. But they will share their strategies, predictions and thought processes before and during the race so that you can follow along and be part of the action.
How should I pack?
Even though Arabella is a 157-ft mega yacht, space onboard is at a premium. We encourage you to pack light. Please bring clothes in a soft duffle bag which can be folded up and stored in a cabinet. We discourage any hard suitcases because there will not be a place to store them in your room. For clothing, you will need enough to last the week and there are no laundry facilities on board. You can send laundry out in Saint Maarten but it may pricey. Sailors specialize in making the most of a small wardrobe. All sailors look great in a blue blazer with a tie or scarf. You can get fancier from there as well. There is also be some special regatta gear which you can purchase before the event. Wearing the team gear to social events is usually well received. Most cabins have a few drawers for clothes storage plus a place for some hangers. The Premier and deluxe lines cabins have more storage space than the double and singe staterooms.
Are there electrical outlets in the cabins?
Yes. Each of the cabins has individual 110 volt electrical outlets. You will be able to charge your phone and computer each night. You can also run a hair dryer.
Are linens included?
Yes. The staterooms are fully stocked with linens and towels. Each cabin has a set of sheets, four pillows plus a fleece blanket and bed cover. Arabella does a “turnover” (where our stewardesses change the sheets) once per cruise, usually on the middle day, but sometimes staggered over two days (because there could be up to 20 guest cabins filled). It is recommended that you bring a small beach towel for your onshore excursions.
What is the situation with bathrooms and showers?
Each cabin also has its own private head (the nautical word for toilet), shower, and air conditioning. You will have privacy and be able to keep your room at your preferred temperature. However, water on a yacht is precious and we have to make all the water using our new Parker Aquamatic watermaker. Because our water supply is limited, please help us conserve it by taking “navy” showers or sharing with a friend. We appreciate your support and cooperation.
How is food and drink handled during the cruise?
All of your meals on Arabella are prepared by our gourmet chef. Arabella focuses on healthy eating and whenever possible, our provisioning is farm-to-table. Your cruise fare covers all breakfasts and lunches onboard during the trip plus three dinners. The cabin fare also includes non-alcoholic beverages. There is also a cash bar for beer, wine and mixed drinks which you may purchase while onboard.
Cancellation Policy
Because only a limited number of cabins are available for each vacation, we request that guests pay the full cabin fare when they register. If this is an issue for you, please call us to discuss (201-753-1207). In order to protect your investment, guests are required to purchase trip insurance through a third party. If a guest cancels a trip 60 or more days in advance and we can fill the cabin with another guests, they will receive a 75% refund of all monies paid. If a guest cancels a trip between 30 and 60 days and we can fill the cabin with another guest, they will receive a 50% refund. No cancellations are permitted within the final 30 days before departure.
