Arrive in Camden
Arriving in Camden, Maine, feels like stepping into a picturesque postcard of New England charm. Nestled between the rolling Camden Hills and the sparkling waters of Penobscot Bay, this quaint harbor town offers a warm welcome to travelers. As you stroll along the waterfront, you’ll see Arabella anchored gracefully in the harbor, a sight that stirs excitement for the adventure ahead. Before boarding, explore Camden’s inviting downtown filled with unique shops, cozy cafés, and art galleries. Take a walk in Harbor Park for stunning views of the bay, or enjoy fresh seafood at a local restaurant overlooking the water. For a touch of nature, hike up Mount Battie in Camden Hills State Park for a panoramic view of the town and harbor below. When it’s time to board Arabella, you’ll take a small tender out to the schooner, where her polished woodwork and billowing sails await, ready to carry you into the heart of Maine’s coastal beauty.
Penobscot Bay & Merchants Row
Sailing on Penobscot Bay is a magical experience, where the vast expanse of sparkling water meets rugged islands and the distant outline of Maine’s forested hills. The steady ocean breeze makes for exhilarating sailing as Arabella glides past lighthouses, rocky shorelines, and the occasional harbor seal or seabird. As the day winds down, we anchor for the night in the serene beauty of Merchants Row, a cluster of small, unspoiled islands nestled between Deer Isle and Isle au Haut. This sheltered anchorage is a sailor’s paradise, offering calm waters and breathtaking views of the surrounding islands silhouetted against the sunset. As twilight falls, the peaceful solitude is accompanied by the gentle lapping of waves and the occasional call of a loon, creating a perfect setting to unwind under a canopy of stars. Whether you choose to relax on deck or explore the nearby islands by tender, Merchants Row is a quintessential Maine anchorage you won’t soon forget.
Mount Desert Island
Mount Desert Island, a jewel of Maine’s coast, offers an unforgettable mix of natural beauty, charming villages, and maritime heritage. As the largest island off the coast of Maine, it’s home to Bar Harbor, a bustling town filled with boutique shops, fresh lobster shacks, and an inviting waterfront. Visitors can stroll along the Shore Path to take in stunning views of Frenchman Bay or explore the vibrant arts and culture scene in nearby galleries. The island’s rugged coastline and serene coves are perfect for kayaking, while its quiet harbors and classic New England scenery make it a dream destination for photographers and adventurers alike. Whether you’re enjoying a fresh-caught seafood dinner or gazing at the starry night sky, Mount Desert Island is a feast for the senses.
Acadia National Park
Acadia National Park, located on Mount Desert Island, is a treasure trove of outdoor adventures and awe-inspiring landscapes, shaped in part by the vision of the Rockefeller family. John D. Rockefeller Jr. designed and funded the creation of the park’s iconic carriage roads, a network of over 45 miles of scenic, car-free paths winding through forests, around lakes, and across handcrafted stone bridges. Today, visitors can hike or bike these beautifully maintained roads, experiencing the island as Rockefeller intended—harmoniously blending nature and recreation. Cadillac Mountain, the highest point on the U.S. East Coast, offers a stunning sunrise that’s worth the early wake-up call. Visitors can also marvel at Jordan Pond, relax on Sand Beach, or spot wildlife such as seals, peregrine falcons, and bald eagles. With its dramatic cliffs, pristine forests, and serene lakes, Acadia captures the very essence of Maine’s natural beauty and enduring legacy of conservation.
Vinalhaven & Fox Island Thorofare
Sailing through Fox Island Thorofare is an unforgettable highlight of any journey in Penobscot Bay. This narrow, scenic passage cuts between the islands of North Haven and Vinalhaven, offering a spectacular blend of natural beauty and maritime charm. As Arabella glides through the calm, protected waters, you’ll pass lobster boats hauling their traps, weathered granite shorelines, and classic New England homes dotting the islands. Vinalhaven, the larger of the two islands, is a hub of Maine’s lobster industry and known for its rich history and natural splendor. The island features rugged cliffs, hidden coves, and inviting hiking trails that wind through forests and along the rocky coast. Ashore, the small village on Vinalhaven is a perfect place to explore, with its quaint shops, friendly locals, and authentic seaside charm. Sailing through Fox Island Thorofare is a blend of serene beauty and lively coastal culture, encapsulating the spirit of Maine’s iconic waters.

Where do we meet Arabella?
Guests will meet Arabella in Newport, RI. Arabella is normally anchored off Goat Island. Her tender can pick you up at Fort Adams.
What is the easiest way to get to Newport RI?
Getting to Newport, RI, is easy and offers several convenient options depending on your starting point and preferred mode of travel:
By Air: The two nearest airports are Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), approximately 70 miles away, and T.F. Green Airport (PVD) in Providence, just 30 miles from Newport. Boston offers a wider selection of flights from major domestic and international cities, while Providence provides a closer option for those flying regionally. From either airport, you can rent a car, take a shuttle, or book an Uber or Lyft to Newport. The drive from Providence typically takes around 40 minutes, while the drive from Boston is about 1.5 hours.
By Train: If you prefer traveling by train, the Kingston Station (Wickford Junction) connects to Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor, making it a convenient choice for travelers coming from cities like New York, Philadelphia, or Washington, D.C. Once at Kingston Station, Newport is a short 20-mile drive or ride away. You can easily book an Uber, Lyft, or even take a bus to reach downtown Newport.

No matter which route you choose, the journey to Newport is scenic and enjoyable. Once you arrive, you’ll be greeted by the charm of this historic coastal city, making your adventure aboard Arabella even more special!
Do I need to have sailing experience to join this adventure?
No prior sailing experience is needed to enjoy an unforgettable week aboard Arabella, our luxurious 157-foot mega yacht. Whether you’re a seasoned sailor or have never stepped on a boat before, this journey is designed for everyone. You can get as involved in the sailing as you like—learn the ropes, experience steering the yacht if offered by the captain, or simply watch the crew in action. Or, if relaxation is your goal, sink into one of Arabella’s plush cushions with a good book and let the sea breeze rejuvenate your soul. With spacious decks, gourmet meals, and stops at some of the East Coast’s most exclusive destinations, your experience aboard Arabella will be equal parts adventure and indulgence. This is more than a sailing trip—it’s your gateway to luxurious exploration and timeless memories.
How should I pack?
Packing light is key for your week aboard Arabella! While she is a luxurious 157-ft megayacht, space onboard is thoughtfully designed but limited. We highly recommend bringing your essentials in a soft duffle bag, which can be folded and stored in your cabin. Hard suitcases are discouraged, as there won’t be room to store them. For clothing, plan for a week’s worth of versatile attire, keeping in mind that there are no laundry facilities onboard. If needed, laundry can be sent out during our stop in Martha’s Vineyard. Sailors are known for mastering stylish simplicity—bring a classic blue blazer paired with a tie or scarf, which is perfect for social gatherings. You can dress it up further for special events, and there will also be Arabella gear available for purchase before the trip. Wearing yacht gear to social events is always a hit! Each cabin provides space for your wardrobe, with a few drawers and a hanging area. If you’re staying in a Premier or Deluxe cabin, you’ll enjoy more generous storage compared to the Double or Single Staterooms. Packing smart and light ensures a stress-free and comfortable experience, so you can fully enjoy every moment of your sailing adventure!
Are there electrical outlets in the cabins?
Yes, every cabin aboard Arabella is equipped with 110-volt electrical outlets, ensuring you can stay connected and comfortable throughout your journey. You’ll have the ability to charge your phone, laptop, or other electronic devices each night. The outlets can also accommodate small personal appliances, like a hair dryer or electric razor, so you can feel fresh and ready for both adventure-filled days and elegant evening events. To make the most of the shared onboard power, we recommend bringing only essential devices and unplugging them once charged. With the convenience of these outlets, you’ll have everything you need to stay powered up and focused on enjoying your luxurious week at sea!
Are linens included?
Yes, all linens are provided to ensure your stay aboard Arabella is as comfortable as it is luxurious. Each stateroom is fully stocked with high-quality sheets, four plush pillows, a cozy fleece blanket, and a stylish bed cover. Towels for onboard use are also included. Midway through the cruise, our stewardesses perform a “turnover,” refreshing your cabin with clean sheets and linens. Please note that with up to 18 guest cabins onboard, the turnover process may be staggered over two days to ensure each guest receives attentive service. For your onshore excursions or beach outings, we recommend bringing a lightweight beach towel, as these are not included. With thoughtfully prepared staterooms and attentive service, Arabella ensures that you’ll feel right at home while enjoying your adventure on the water.
What is the situation with bathrooms and showers?
Each cabin aboard Arabella is outfitted with its own private head (the nautical term for bathroom), complete with a shower, toilet, and sink, offering you the privacy and comfort of your own space. Additionally, every cabin is equipped with air conditioning, so you can relax and sleep at your preferred temperature, ensuring a restful and enjoyable experience after a day of adventure. However, as with any yacht, water conservation is crucial. All freshwater onboard is produced using our state-of-the-art Parker Aquamatic watermaker, which transforms seawater into freshwater. While this system ensures a steady supply, the capacity is limited, especially with a full complement of guests and crew. To help us preserve this precious resource, we kindly ask all guests to take “navy showers” (briefly rinsing, turning off the water to soap up, and then rinsing again) and to use water thoughtfully. If you’re traveling with a partner or friend, sharing a shower can also help conserve water. Your cooperation ensures that everyone onboard has access to sufficient water while also supporting sustainable yachting practices. Together, we can enjoy the comforts of Arabella while being mindful of our shared resources!
How is food and drink handled during the cruise?
Dining aboard Arabella is an experience in itself, with all meals freshly prepared by our talented gourmet chef. We focus on healthy, flavorful dishes that showcase the best ingredients, and whenever possible, we source farm-to-table provisions to ensure exceptional quality and freshness. Your cruise fare includes hearty breakfasts and delicious lunches each day, as well as four thoughtfully curated dinners onboard, giving you a chance to savor meals crafted with care while enjoying the stunning views and relaxed atmosphere of the yacht. When we dock at Martha’s Vineyard, you’ll have the opportunity to dine ashore on those evenings, exploring the island’s renowned restaurants, which offer everything from casual seafood shacks to fine dining establishments. This allows you to immerse yourself in the local culinary scene while enjoying the freedom to choose your own dining experience. In addition to meals, your cabin fare includes a selection of non-alcoholic beverages to keep you refreshed throughout the day. Arabella also features a well-stocked cash bar offering beer, wine, and expertly mixed cocktails, so you can sip and savor your favorite drinks while lounging on deck or watching the sunset. From gourmet meals to refreshing beverages, Arabella ensures a culinary journey that complements your sailing adventure perfectly!
